We had so much fun during our busy week before holiday break! One of our favorite parts of our week was looking each and every day for our gingerbread buddies around the classroom:
On Friday, our gingerbread friends left us a letter and sent us on a scavenger hunt around SMS! We read their clues and went all around the building to find them all
The last clue led us back to our very own classroom, where the gingerbread had left us one final letter along with a bag of goodies to play with in our classroom and keep in our library!
On Wednesday, we build our gingerbread houses and on Thursday, we invited our friends and family to decorate with us!
We used milk cartons, graham crackers, and a bit of frosting to create our base on Wednesday. We let them dry overnight so they were ready to decorate on Thursday
We had so much fun snacking on and decorating our houses with our guests! We got very creative with our supplies and made solar panels, docks, porches, dogs, flags, and fences to complete our humble abodes :)
We also completed our gifts for our family, which included a snowman painting, a lights ornament, and a beautiful winter scene with a holiday poem!
We also got our gift from Ms. Riley, who made each of us a snow globe ornament to hang on our tree :)
On Friday, we got to watch Ms. Riley and lots of the other teachers perform in the Holiday Butterfly!
Afterwards, we got a chance to try on the crazy candy cane hat!
We also got to play some fun holiday games and enjoy A Muppet Christmas Carol before we finally headed home for vacation
Thank you all for donating so many wonderful gifts for the SMS Holiday Mission and for all of the supplies for our gingerbread house party. We had so much fun with you and it would not have been possible without all of your support! The gifts are being delivered to families today, their Christmas will be much more merry and bright thanks to your generosity.
Thank you also for the lovely class gift, you are entirely too generous! I am so appreciative of all that you do for our classroom, and I am so thankful to know and teach each and every one of your children. They never cease to amaze me, and they are the reason I come to work each and every day with a smile on my face and love in my heart.
We have had such a wonderful year together so far, and I cannot wait to see where the year ahead will take us. I hope you enjoy the holidays with your family and friends. See you in 2017!
