Two Readers are Better Than One!

On Thursday, we began partner reading at the end of Reader's Workshop. Partner reading always takes place at the end of our independent reading time, and during this time we pair up with a friend who is reading similar "just right" books and take turns reading and sharing with one another. It's a great way to get talking about our reading and it also exposes us to books we might not have chosen for ourselves. It's also a great way to get some help with a few of the tricky words we might come across in our reading!

Last week, we just focused on getting into the groove of partner reading by finding just right spots in the room with our partner, using whisper voices to talk with and read to our partners, and taking turns when we read and share. Next week, we will begin sharing what we find in our reading with the whole class!
