Dot Day is MONDAY!!!

Have you ever read Peter H. Reynold’s story The Dot? This story tells of a teacher who reaches a reluctant student in a creative way. The teacher pushes the student to “Make her mark,” which all begins with a simple dot on a piece of paper. You can watch a video of the story here:

To celebrate this great story, and to encourage students to “make their mark,” educators around the world have declared, Monday, Sept. 15th, International Dot Day!

Our class will celebrate by completing various dot activities, that stretch across the curriculum. Help us celebrate by encouraging your child to wear DOTS on Monday! This could be anything from polka dots, to sticker dots, to circle patterns, etc. Dot Day is all about creativity---please do not go out and buy anything for this day! If your child is unable to find any dots, I have plenty of sticker dots to share.
