We had practiced collaborating like scientists and observing like scientists, so this week, we practiced experimenting like scientists!
We did our first Mystery Science exploration with magnets, and we explored the many properties of magnets and tested their abilities around our classroom.
Through our exploration of magnets, we discovered the "poles" of magnets, their varying strength, and we discovered that not all metals are attracted to magnets.
After we explored our classroom with magnets and noted our observations, we learned about where magnets came from, the metals they are attracted to (iron) and we learned about the inventions that have been created using magnetic force! The giraffes have done an amazing job practicing their skills as scientists, and we are excited to use these skills throughout the year as we explore and experiment with the world around us.
